Artist Bio
AnnaLee Burnstein is an interdisciplinary artist, working with sculpture, installation, and performance. Her work primarily uses polymer clay, along with various materials such as tubing, spackle, fibers, and paint. She uses her personal history to explore the universal experience of how our inner and external worlds collide. She is fascinated by the emotional turmoil we all go through and how it juxtaposes with our daily masks. Using anatomical and macabre imagery, she highlights the difficult and vulnerable nature of our emotional undercurrents. Underneath it all, we are the same flesh.
AnnaLee Burnstein was born in Roanoke, Virginia in 1988. She currently lives and works in Atlanta, Georgia. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Sculpture from Savannah College of Art and Design in 2012. Her work has been shown in local galleries around Atlanta such as The Supermarket, Echo Contemporary Gallery, and Mint Gallery.
